Administrator's Message I will never forget the time I sat across the desk from a public school counselor of a thriving 5A size high school. Our conversation focused on the reasons she, as a parent, sent her own children to our private Christian school instead of the school she represented. Her words still ring in my mind, "I know our public school campus is beautiful and we have all the accommodations; but, there is a crack in the foundation. Sadly, more horses and men cannot put Humpty Dumpty back together again." I was simply in awe at this public school counselor's insight into what is truly happening in the public school arena. Who else could better discern the condition of our public school system than a professional school counselor who meets with students everyday? The great King Solomon said it another way, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge." To put it plainly, that is the crack. My heart is often heavy for the thousands of graduates walking across the stage with a diploma in their hand and a cracked foundation under their feet. They have no idea who they are or why they are here on this earth. They are ever increasing in knowledge and yet venturing further from the Truth. At Family Christian Academy, we are not merely a college prep school. We have a much greater responsibility than that. We are a purpose prep school! Our first priority is for our students to be educated in their spirit not their mind. A revelation education that begins with the Word of God and a reverence for God! Just like our American public school used to do. Our students will know and understand that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by a loving God who has given them a specific pre-ordained purpose to fulfill in life. A purpose that is greater than themselves and will bring a wholeness and inner joy beyond what any self seeking ambition could bring. It is this educational journey of discovering and preparing for that purpose that Family Christian Academy is all about. In essence, when Humpty Dumpty is on a sure foundation, there is no need for more horses and men. |
